In its first edition (1962), this book conatined a set of lectures ('His Personality', 'The "World-Poet" and the Bengali', 'The Framework: The Poem and the Poet', 'The Inner Drama: The Poet and Poetry', and 'The Inner Drama: On the Frontier') given by the author. Four more essays by BB, written between 1941 and 1960, have been added in this "enlarged" edition. BB believed that his later writings were truly reflective of his more mature views on Tagore.
